“Abigail the Peacemaker” from the book Dear Divine Daughter

I wanted the background of this one to be the green hills of Jordan (modern Moab). Green was really important to me because it can symbolize peace, so I wanted to fill the empty space with peace all around her.

When king David is angered by Abigail’s husband’s unkindness and lack of hospitality, he brings his army to punish them. Abigail goes behind her husbands back to offer food to David and his army. She settles the peace between her husband and David, saving her household from certain death. The story concludes with her later marrying David after the death of her husband.

As I was making this people pointed out to me the story of Abigail as a type of Christ, can anyone elaborate? I’m sure other people would be interested, but I can’t find the messages anymore!

I thought her offering of bread would speak nicely to the “bread of life” as would the sheep I put in frame, (both of which she offers lots of to David in the story) and her all white garments.
